Student Critics Take on Wicked
Every year, a handful of aspiring arts writers and critics join the Tommy Awards Student Critics program. They attend performances of Broadway shows, touring dance and music companies and local arts groups, including Overture’s resident companies. Under the direction of Capital Times arts writer Lindsay Christians, they learn to take in these performances with a critical eye and ear and to produce honest, well-written reviews.

Overture’s silent film series, Duck Soup Cinema, gets underway for the 2015/16 season with the Buster Keaton 1925 classic Seven Chances on Saturday, October 24, with a matinee screening at 2 pm and an evening showing at 7 pm.
Up and Comer, Tour Veteran Named “Rising Stars”
At the end of an incredible show featuring 22 local acts giving their all in front of more than 630 people, 18-year-old singer/songwriter Charles Scott Yeager and 30-year-old singer and trumpet player John Parker DeHaven earned the title of Overture’s Rising Star on Saturday night.
