Join us at James Watrous Gallery to celebrate the opening of Writing in Stone with Terese Agnew and many of her collaborating artists, writers, historians, and friends. The celebration will feature welcoming remarks by Terese Agnew and performances by several “living statues” representing historical figures, including Milwaukee actor Flora Coker as Belle LaFollette.

Created by Terese Agnew with a team of artists, writers, and other collaborators, Writing in Stone is an evocative, theatrical installation of monuments to transformative ideas and events from Wisconsin’s past. The installation invokes Wisconsin’s legacy of civic engagement, action, and legislation to further education, civil liberties, and social justice.
