Overture Center Stands with Orlando
"Pulse" light tribute to all impacted by the tragedy
Overture Center President and CEO Ted DeDee authorized the creation of a light show using the exterior and interior of Overture Hall’s lobby.
“We believe the arts can be used to build bridges and create conversations between people,” said DeDee. “The light show pays homage to the victims of the shooting in Orlando as a way of showing our support for them and their families as they navigate this difficult time.”
Lighting Designer John Frautschy created a light show that starts with a celebration of color that pulses throughout the show. The pulses are representative of the nightclub atmosphere and the heartbeats of those lost in the shooting as well as the injured.
Officially launched at 2:00AM (EST) on Sunday, June 19, the light show will run through 2:00 AM (EST), July 12, 2016.
