Auditions for "Lulu" in WAITRESS THE MUSICAL

WAITRESS, the Tony-nominated musical from Grammy® nominee Sara Bareilles, will make its Madison premiere at Overture Center for a limited one-week engagement as part of the 2017/18 Broadway at Overture season Tuesday, July 24. The production is looking for two young girls to perform the role of “Lulu” for the duration of the engagement.
The character of “Lulu” is a sweet and carefree 4- to 5-year-old who appears in the production’s finale scene. Qualified young girls should be shorter than 4’2” and no older than 5 years and 3 months. Individual applicants are welcome, as are sets of twins or siblings. Space is limited to the first 40 applicants to sign up.
The “Search for Lulu” will take place at Overture Center in Madison on WED, JUN 20 at 10 AM and 1:00 PM and each session will last approximately 2 (two) hours The audition will consist of the child reading two lines from the show. If possible, parents should bring a current head shot and resume for each child. Headshot, resume and prior acting experience is not required.
PARTICIPANTS ONLY NEED TO ATTEND ONE SESSION.

Time: Session One – 10 AM | Session Two – 1:00 PM (Please plan to stay for 2 hours.)

HOW EARLY SHOULD I ARRIVE WITH MY CHILD FOR THE AUDITION?
Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes prior to the audition session time for which you signed up.
WILL I STAY WITH MY CHILD OR DROP THEM OFF? WHAT WILL I DO WHILE MY CHILD IS AUDITIONING?
You will stay with your child in a waiting area. We do not anticipate each child’s audition to take very long- however, if the audition session is full it may take some time to get to your child. Please plan to potentially spend up to 2 hours at the audition.
WHAT SHOULD WE BRING WITH US TO THE AUDITION?
Please bring a current head shot and resume, if available. You will be asked to provide contact information and sign a promotional release at the audition.
WHO DECIDES WHICH ACTRESSES WILL BE CAST?
All casting decisions are made by the company representing WAITRESS.
WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD WEAR?
Whatever they are comfortable wearing. The costume is denim overalls and a t-shirt.
HOW LONG WILL THE AUDITION LAST?
10-15 minutes. Please be prepared to stay at least 2 hours.
WHEN WILL WE BE NOTIFIED OF RECEIVING THE PART?
Production office will contact the parent or guardian by phone or email within two weeks of the audition.
