Final Lineup Set for Overture’s Rising Stars
We’re pleased to announce that we’ve invited 24 local musicians, bands, dancers, magicians and other entertainers to perform in the final “Overture’s Rising Stars” performance at 7:00 pm on Sunday, September 28 in the historic Capitol Theater. The performance is part of our 10th Anniversary Celebration.
We held six auditions at neighborhood and community centers throughout Dane County and invited 83 acts to a callback this past weekend. They were all terrific, but our final show can’t run six hours! Cutting it down to 24 wasn’t easy, to say the least, but we feel we’ve got the best and brightest. And they are…

“We were just blown away by the level of talent we found right here in our area,” said Overture Center Vice President of Programming Tim Sauers. “They didn’t make the decisions easy on us. The lineup we’ve put together will make for an amazing night of entertainment, and some really great performers will get the spotlight they deserve.”
Overture’s Rising Stars is the newest of more than a dozen community engagement programs at Overture Center. It is intended to discover, grow and nurture local talent, and give local amateur artists a professional platform in which to perform. Several of the final performers may be offered further performance opportunities, and several will also receive cash prizes.
“I think we might help launch some very promising careers here,” Sauers said. Tickets for the final performance are available now. And don’t forget – the Rising Stars program, like all of our community engagement programs, depends on your support. Take a few minutes to learn more about making a gift.
Overture Center for the Arts would like to thank the following sponsors for their support of Overture’s 10th Anniversary!
