Hoppy 20th Anniversary: Celebrating our Big 2-Oh with Delta Beer Lab

Celebrations are well under way for Overture’s 20^th anniversary. One special way we are commemorating this milestone is by collaborating with Delta Beer Lab on a special anniversary brew.

“As we began planning for how we were going to make this season special, we thought ‘how cool would it be to have our own beer that would be available for patrons to enjoy at performances all year long?’” said Cayla Minear, Overture’s director of institutional giving. “Delta Beer Lab has a lot of the same values as Overture as far as inclusivity and sustainability, which made them a perfect partner for us.”

Located on East Badger Road in Fitchburg, Delta Beer Lab has been operating since 2019. Their mission of “Crafting Beer, Crafting Change” aims to prove that business can do well and do good at the same time. Since they opened, their guests have donated over $220,000 to local organizations through their Nonprofit Partner program. In March 2024, Delta started their Change It Up Tuesdays program, partnering with a different local nonprofit partner every week to help raise awareness of the good work they are doing as well as raise funds for organizations in the community.

As a member of “1% for the Planet,” Delta has also committed 1% of total revenue to environmental organizations focused on water quality resources and climate change issues. Delta will generously be donating a portion of sales from the 20^th Anniversary beer back to Overture Center.

“Overture does great work in the community, so we are excited to support them and celebrate this exciting milestone,” said Speedy (Michelle Riehn), co-owner of Delta Beer Lab. “We work with a lot of nonprofit partners so [the collaboration] was an easy ‘yes’ for us. We are always looking for more ways to do good in the community.”

Overture’s 20^th Anniversary beer will be a Hazy style IPA. The beer will be available for purchase at all Overture Center performances starting September 30. It will also be served at Delta Beer Lab’s tasting room.

“We chose this style because it’s one of the most popular beers in the country right now,” said Riehn.

Overture’s 20^th Anniversary IPA will be making its debut at our “Big 2-Oh” Birthday Party on Saturday, Sept. 28. Partygoers will get the first taste of the specialty brew and will get to meet with Delta staff. The party will also feature performances, backstage tours of Overture Center, photo opportunities and more! Tickets are available at overture.org.

As we launch into our 20^th anniversary season, we had to ask Speedy what shows she is looking forward to.

“Honestly, I’m really pumped for ‘Jim Henson’s Fraggle Rock Live!’” said Speedy. “I grew up watching it, so it’s very nostalgic. As far as Broadway, I think I’m most excited for ‘Shucked.’ I usually try to make it to a few concerts, too, which are always fun.”
