3D Secure: Enhancing security for online ticket purchases

To ensure a safe and secure ticket-buying experience, we’ve implemented an additional layer of protection for online purchases. This industry-standard technology, known as 3D Secure (3DS), helps safeguard transactions by verifying the identity of the cardholder when necessary. Many major credit cards, such as Visa Secure and Mastercard Identity Check, use this system to prevent fraudulent activity.
How do I know if I have a 3DS card?
Check with your credit card issuer. Examples of these fraud protection programs are known as Visa Secure, Mastercard Identity Check, American Express SafeKey, ProtectBuy (Diners) and J/Secure (JCB).
How will 3DS impact my online purchases?
Most ticket buyers won’t notice a change, but in some cases—especially if a purchase is flagged as unusual—you may be asked to complete a quick verification step, such as entering a password or one-time code sent by your bank.
What if I’m unable to complete my online purchase?
If you are unable to verify your identity, you can try another credit card, contact your card issuer or complete your purchase onsite. You may want to confirm your contact information (such as email and phone number) is up to date with your credit card issuer to receive verification codes.
Is there an option if I do not want 3DS verification?
The 3DS verification process is mandatory for flagged online transactions to ensure security. If you do not wish to go through this process, you can try using a different credit card that may not require 3DS verification. Additionally, you can pay over the phone or purchase tickets onsite.
