March is Women's History Month! This yearly celebration recognizes the impactful contributions of women throughout history and in modern society. This month offers a chance to reflect on the contributions of women in all fields, from business and arts to sports and activism. Here are some inspiring ways to engage, learn and support women in Madison this month.

Saturday, March 7: 8th Annual Respect – A Celebration of Women in Music at Majestic
“A Celebration of Women in Music” returns to the Majestic for its 8th annual celebration of women in music during Women's History Month! Enjoy a night of live music paying tribute to musical legends alongside some of the incredibly talented local artists in our community.
Thursday, March 12: Women’s History Month Mixer: Bold Moves & Brave Moments at DreamBank
Celebrate and support fellow women with mingling, mocktails and an inspiring panel discussion.
Thursday, March 12: Leadership, Legacy & Global Impact with Urban League of Greater Madison at the Black Business Hub
Attend a celebration centered on uplifting Black women leaders and Black-led impact in our community.
Hosted by the Urban League of Greater Madison at the Black Business Hub, this event will feature a moderated panel discussion, a keynote address by a former Consul General, live music and time for networking and connection with community members, entrepreneurs and advocates.
Friday, March 13: Women in Wine + Book Swap
Every year, Table Wine dedicates their March wine tasting to women making their way in the male-dominated industry of wine. The event celebrates Women's History Month with wines from some incredibly talented women. This year’s event also includes a book swap.
Thursday, March 19: International Women’s Day 2026 hosted by Wisconsin Latino Chamber of Commerce
Join the Wisconsin Latino Chamber of Commerce for a powerful gathering that honors the resilience, innovation and impact of women entrepreneurs across Wisconsin.
Shop women-owned businesses
Supporting women-owned businesses, products and restaurants is a meaningful way to celebrate Women’s History Month. Find products from women-owned businesses at Willy Street Co-op or choose from one of these women-owned businesses in Middleton! City Cast Madison also has compiled a list of great businesses to support.
Explore local organizations supporting women
There are lots of great local resources for women in business, the arts or those who just want to connect with other women in the area. Here are just a few to check out.
Doyenne Group – Doyenne is building and expanding a virtual network of communities where early-stage, scalable, women and historically marginalized gender/s entrepreneurs come to access professional development, connections and other opportunities with each other and Doyenne’s partners.
LunART - The mission of LunART is to support, inspire, promote and celebrate all women in the arts through public performances, exhibitions, workshops and interdisciplinary collaboration, thus enriching our community and creating a welcoming space for learning and experimentation.
Wisconsin Women’s Network - The Wisconsin Women’s Network’s goal is to expand conversations and actions to encompass the concerns and challenges faced by women in Wisconsin. They examine intersections within the fight for equality through communication, education, advocacy and connections, combating racial, socio-economic and gender-identity inequalities, to name a few.
Progress Center for Black Women – The Progress Center for Black Women offers coworking and creates powerful communities of Black women who lead, do and own. They support women in realizing their personal and career goals by providing regular workshops around professional development, entrepreneurship, wellness and financial health.
Support women’s sports
Madison is home to outstanding female athletes and organizations that promote women in sports. Show your support by following and attending events.
LOVB Madison: LOVB, which stands for League One Volleyball, launched six teams across the country in January 2025, including LOVB Madison.
UW-Madison Women’s Athletics: Hockey and basketball seasons may be coming to a close, but spring sports are ramping up with golf, tennis and softball home games all on the schedule for March.
Madison Night Mares: The professional softball team will kick off their third season in Madison this summer. Ticket packages are on sale now.
Rally Madison FC: Big Top Events LLC, the owner of Forward Madison FC, has officially launched Rally Madison FC, a new USL W League franchise set to begin in May 2026. Rally Madison FC will become the first women’s sports franchise to call Breese Stevens Field home. Built with and for its community, Rally Madison FC represents a bold new chapter for women’s soccer in Madison.
Celebrate International Women’s Day at International Festival
International Women’s Day is on Sunday, March 8. Celebrate a day early by coming to Overture Center’s free International Festival on Saturday, March 7! What better way to spend the day than by celebrating the rich cultural heritage within our community and supporting female artists, performers and businesses. Enjoy more than 30 free performances and shop from vendors and artists representing cultures from around the world.
