Corporate sponsor Wealthspire makes an art-inspired commitment to community

Overture arts patron Julie Williams was moved by Four Season Theatre’s winter production of “Company” in The Playhouse. The show held special significance—years ago, when Williams was in middle school, she worked on the pit crew for the same musical at a local community theater, where it was directed by her father.
“The (Four Season) experience felt like getting together with extended family, but it was our first time meeting,” said Williams, reflecting on the intimate theater setting and the lively conversations she struck up with fellow attendees. “Experiences like this remind me of why I love Overture Center.”
A Pandemic Perspective
For years, Williams and her husband, Brad, attended one show annually, a cherished gift from Williams’ parents. But the pandemic changed everything. As COVID-19 shuttered theaters, the couple realized how vital the arts were to their lives—and how fragile the industry could be.
“When COVID shut down the world, my husband and I were fortunate to continue working,” Williams said. “My sister and sister-in-law work in the arts industry, and we watched their struggle. We wanted to do what we could to support the industry. We both believe the world is a better place because of the arts. We couldn't imagine a world without them.”
In 2021, when Overture Center reopened, the Williamses became Broadway season subscribers. They now attend a wide range of performances—Broadway, Overture Presents, resident company and local arts—each season. For them, the theater is a thread in the fabric of their family.

Strengthening Personal Bonds
They see Overture as a place where they’ve built lasting memories with their son, his girlfriend, neighbors and other friends and family members.
“One of the reasons we keep subscribing is because we have a built-in date day—one day a month dedicated to doing something fun and special,” said Williams.
The Williamses also support Overture Center through personal donations.
Attending shows often, Williams noticed the many corporate sponsors supporting Overture’s programs. Curious, she reached out to the Development team to explore how her employer—Wealthspire Advisors—might get involved.
Wealthspire Steps In
Wealthspire Advisors, a national independent registered investment advisor, helps clients connect all aspects of their financial lives to create thoughtful, collaborative strategic plans. As a senior vice president and wealth advisor in the Delafield office, Williams works with a wide range of clients, including artists and families who invest in art as part of their financial portfolios.
“Wealthspire acts as a wealth manager, investment advisor, consultant and constant partner in helping clients gain confidence in their financial futures,” said Williams.
Wealthspire Advisors introduced a nationwide “Art Inspired” initiative in 2025, designed to explore opportunities for financial planners to better support artists and art investors. A corporate sponsorship with Overture was a natural fit.
This coming season, Wealthspire is proud to support Overture Galleries and contribute to the Donor Lounge giveaways.
“Overture Center brings tremendous value to the community,” said Williams. “From kids’ productions to the Duck Soup Cinema silent films, from professional tours to the community theater groups, there’s something for everyone. The galleries offer artists visibility and connection. The community wins all around.”

Helping Artists Thrive
Williams appreciates the arts and the positive impact they have on her life, and she wants to help artists thrive financially to ensure they continue their art for all to enjoy.
In a recent article, “The Art of Financial Planning for Artists, Entertainers and Creatives,” on the Wealthspire Blog, she wrote, “As an artist or creative professional, your career is often characterized by its unpredictability. One month you might land a lucrative project, and the next, your income could drop significantly. This financial volatility makes it crucial to adopt strategic planning and surround yourself with a reliable advisory team.”
She outlines seven essential steps to building financial security:
- Establish a budget and a savings plan
- Diversify your income streams
- Manage debt wisely
- Invest for the future
- Protect your work and income
- Find opportunities for support
- Assemble your “advisory board”
“Helping others improve their financial future is my gift,” Williams said. “And I find deep joy in giving it.”
Why Corporate Support Matters
Williams encourages other businesses to support Overture.
“Not only does it raise brand awareness,” she said, “but it supports something that enriches the entire community. Overture makes a real difference in Madison, drawing hundreds of thousands of guests each year. It feels good to stand behind something so meaningful.”
Through personal dedication and professional leadership, Williams continues to play a powerful role in sustaining the arts—ensuring that the curtain keeps rising for generations to come.
