Angela Puerta is a Colombian singer-songwriter and guitarist based in Madison, Wisconsin. Her music is influenced by Rock en Español, Alternative Rock, Pop, Reggae, Colombian Folklore and other Latin American music. She is currently working on her first album as a solo artist. While living in Colombia she created a cover rock band who performed the music of Alanis Morrisette, Janis Joplin, Cranberries, No Doubt, Aterciopelados, Soda Estereo and more. Today, she continues to perform these genres for audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

October is a month to celebrate our Hispanic Heritage and what a better way that to get a sense of Latin music and its cultural traditions? Come prepared to learn some Afro-Colombian rhythms and folklore such as Cumbia, Bambuco, Salsa, And even Reggae! Angela Puerta and Willie Gracia, an outstanding percussionist from Puerto Rico, will show kids and parents how to play some of the instruments played in South America. Angela will teach kids how to sing in both Spanish and English along with upbeat music that will help the audience to learn fast while having fun!
