Overture Center is committed to the safety of our guests, resident organizations, artists, volunteers and staff. In response to the current health situation, many shows are being rescheduled or canceled, including “Why Worry”.

We have great news to share. The Duck Soup Cinema screening of “Why Worry” has been rescheduled to APR 17, 2021 and will replace the previously scheduled screening of “Suds”.

In this wonderful 1923 film, Harold Lloyd portrays a wealthy and spoiled young man who is so obsessed with his health that he decides he needs to take a cruise to a southern climate and stay in “Paradiso,” a fictitious South American island off the cost of Chile. He goes there with his nurse and valet. He thought he would find peace, but stumbles into a revolution instead.

Overture’s Duck Soup Cinema silent film series is nationally known for providing an authentic and rare silent film experience in the historic Capitol Theater, which celebrated its 90th anniversary in January 2018. As these films were released nearly a century ago, please be aware they may depict some of the theatric and social conventions of the time including material that may be considered socially insensitive today.
