Kids in the Rotunda: Hail to the Cash Box Kings

Meet the Artist

A quintet of men stand in front of a grey backdrop. They are wearing an assortment of colorful shirts, jackets, and hats. The man on the left has an upright bass and the man on the left has a guitar.

Cash Box Kings

The Cash Box Kings feature Oscar Wilson's rafter-shaking SouthSide vocals, powerhouse harp, stinging guitar and a swinging rhythm section. Their albums have topped the Billboard Blues, Living Blues Radio and Sirius XM's B.B. King's Bluesville radio charts and earned them 15 Blues Music Award (BMA) nominations, including Album of the Year, Best Traditional Album and Band of the Year. Critics in the U.S. and Europe consider the group to be one of the best traditional blues bands in America today, and they won the Blues Band of the Year at the 2023 Blues Blast Music Awards.
The Cash Box Kings are regular headliners at Chicago blues clubs like Buddy Guy’s Legends, Fitzgerald's, SPACE and Rosa's Lounge and have played festivals worldwide like the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, the Chicago Blues Festival, the Cambridge Folk Festival (UK), Moulin Blues (Netherlands) Hondarribia (Spain), Doheny Blues Festival, the Tampa Bay Blues Festival and the Lucerne Blues Festival (Switzerland), just to name a few.
