Meet the Artist

L.E.X

L.E.X (also known as “Mr. Alexis”) is a hip-hop artist, author, poet, DJ and educator from Milwaukee, Wis. While combining all these skills, he’s been a performer for Summerfest, Kids In The Rotunda and the country’s “AmeriCorps Member of the Year” for his service in the state of Wisconsin.
Poetry and music were positive outlets for L.E.X as a child in Milwaukee, and he’s dedicated his teaching and music career to showing the youth how powerful it can be for everyone. Touring the schools of the Madison Metropolitan School District, Sun Prairie Schools and Milwaukee Public Schools is always a great experience, and he’s excited to see familiar and new faces at Kids In The Rotunda this season. He wants to show everyone that dreams start young, and that your dreams can continue to grow like we do.

Art After Overture

In addition, families are invited to participate in “Art After Overture” in partnership with the Madison Public Library. The sessions provide arts experiences related to the morning’s Kids in the Rotunda performance. "Art After Overture" will take place at the Central Library location from 10:30am-12:30pm.
