Join us for a new experience at Overture Galleries this fall: Slow Art!
In partnership with the James Watrous Gallery, this special event invites you to pause and connect with art in a deeper, more mindful way. This Slow Art event will take you through Gallery 1 with the works of Mark Weller and Karen Fitzgerald and the James Watrous Gallery with the works of Jill Sebastian and Liz Bachhuber.
What is Slow Art?
Slow Art is a national program that encourages participants to spend extended time with a single work of art, enhancing observation and connection.
What to Expect
This immersive morning experience includes:
- Two Guided Meditations led by Kelly Toltzien, founder of Wildflower Therapies, to help center your mind and deepen your viewing experience.
- Intimate Gallery Access before public hours for a quiet, focused environment.
- Coffee, tea, and a light breakfast will be provided to enjoy afterwards, with time for further gallery exploration.

Each year, Overture Galleries mount four cycles of seasonal exhibitions in five galleries, providing a forum for diverse artistic expression and showcasing local artists across all visual media.
James Watrous Gallery
The James Watrous Gallery is dedicated to celebrating Wisconsin artists. Located on the third floor of Overture Center, the Watrous focuses on exhibits by contemporary Wisconsin artists. The gallery is a program of the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts & Letters.

Overture Galleries
Join us for a Slow Art experience beginning with a guided meditation in Wisconsin Studio, followed by a contemplative viewing of works by Gallery I artists Katherine Steichen Rosing and Sandra Schoen. The event concludes with a hands-on book-making workshop and reflection exercise led by the artists.
