Photo and Video Policy
Photographs are a wonderful way to remember a visit to Overture Center, Madison's premier venue for the performing and visual arts. Due to the large amount of patron activity in Overture Center, we have set the following guidelines regarding photos and videos.
GUEST PHOTOGRAPHY (Event/Show Attendees)
- We welcome and encourage our guests to take photos in the lobbies and theaters before a show or at an event. Tag us on Instagram and Facebook!
- Photos are not allowed during performances unless otherwise stated.
CASUAL WALK-IN or GROUP PHOTOGRAPHY
- Photos and video are allowed in spaces accessible to the public when the building is open. This does not include theater lobbies unless previously arranged.
- Please do not block access to entrances, corridors, stairways, thoroughfares or public areas.
- We do not allow tripods or lighting equipment.
- Prom Photo Guidelines:
- Students and parents are welcome to take photos in the public areas of our building. Though reservations for prom photos are not offered, we encourage groups of four or more to contact us ahead of your visit to prevent scheduling conflicts and avoid high traffic times in the building. Email us at events@overture.org.

- No flash photography or filming with enhanced lighting is permitted in Overture Galleries.
- Drones are not allowed in the building.
- Picture-taking, filming or recording of artists, performers, performances, programs or artwork on exhibit anywhere in Overture Center is strictly prohibited without express written permission and within parameters defined by the artists and their representatives.
