Heartbeat
“I make music that deals with the everyday emotions that I don’t feel I would be able to express without doing it through music. While my song, Heartbeat, does not specifically refer to Covid, and being quarantined, it does show the reflective state that I have been in since we have all been stuck infoors. I have been forced to be stuck with just myself, and I am now processing the past traumas that I have lived through. I think Covid is teaching us more about ourselves, and we’re all finding different ways to express that.”

I Will Sing
I wrote this song I called, “I Will Sing”. Words by me and music by local musician, singer, songwriter, and teacher, Shawndell Marks. She performs in this video. The words to the song seem to me to be an anthem for our times.

Forest Lost to Witness
This is a quick recording from home of an original song called Forest Lost to Witness. It’s based on that old saying about when a tree falls and no one is there to hear it — does it make a sound?
The Lost Bobby Pins

So excited to have some of Bobby Pins join me in an evening of civil justice songs, spoken (or screamed) words from the heart, and the opportunity to partake in the #voiceyourheart project.
